HIT: Price of WilsonWeb?

Dear Netters,
     I received a half-dozen replies to my request for information
about the price of HW Wilson's WilsonWeb Reader's Guide Full Text Mega
Edition, and I have not found anyone who received a price better
than $2195 for a year's subscription for a site license, including
remote access.  This is the same price as the monthly CD subscription
I am currently paying, and apparently this is standard industry
practice.  One respondent said that the CD benefits included
ownership of the CD's, as well as not being dependent on volatile
Internet access.  The advantages of the Web-based subscription
included immediate updates, as well as not needing the investment
in hardware or needing to struggle with software bugs.  This person
said that since each format had its strengths and weaknesses, industry
considered them comparable products, and priced them accordingly.
Another respondent said that $2195 was the price her state had
negotiated with Wilson as the state contract price, so I have to
assume it doesn't get any lower than that.  My rep had told me that
the price ran as high as $2795 a year, and that he was getting me
the discounted price.  Apparently he was telling me the truth, and
I owe him an apology for my suspicious mind.  I have always
considered Reader's Guide a superior product, and apparently
its parent company lives up to its product's reputation!  So here
is my formal apology to Wilson:  I'm sorry I doubted you, and I
hope to be a happy subscriber for years to come!
     Thanks so much to everyone who replied to my question.  I
may sometimes be suspicious of vendors, but I would trust my
LM-Net friends with my life!!!
