Hello LM-Netters, I just want to say that I agree with Ms. Achbach on the subject of editing historical quotes. I appreciate her opinion on the adaptation of quotes for the purpose of being politicaly corrrect. I was the person who forwarded my collected hits to the list, and I am the first to admit that they should have been better edited; I was so enthusiastic about the replies I wanted to post them ASAP. However, I agree with Ms. Achbach totally on the subject of changing the quotes. I wanted to write something myself, but being new to the list didn't want to overstep my bounds. I think she brought up some super ideas for incorporating lesssons in historical ideas and thinking in cooperation with using these historical statements. Personally, when I get a note from my child's teacher with everything worded "he/she" I find it distracting. Just my opinion, and I am glad we all have the right to voice ours.
