Target: Some ideas for elementary principal read alouds

Hi everyone!
        I've been on nomail for several months now but needed to get back on the 
list to ask a quick
question. My new principal at my new school has requested that I choose some good 
read aloud books
for her for grades K-5 for the beginning of the school year. They can be beginning 
of school
stories, school related, or just stories you think would be fun for her and for the 
kids. I would
like to get things off to a good start with her, so would you please send me your 
suggestions for
each grade level? (I have some ideas already but I want to pick your collective 
brain too!)
        One more thing I just thought of- any suggestions for getting things off on 
a good foot at a
new school? With staff and students? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in 
advance, guys!
