Dear Netters: I had a very interesting question that came up yesterday. A mom working with her child on a library research game wondered how many other countries use the Dewey Decimal system? I looked in a couple of encyclopedia articles, and all they say is "many countries" or "worldwide". Is it used in most countries, or only on a couple of continents? Are there any cataloging systems used in other countries besides Dewey and Library of Congress? If you are in a country other than the U.S., please let me know what system you use, and I'll post a hit. This was one question that I couldn't answer, but I knew you all could. After all, if we don't know the answer, we usually know where to look it up, and you're my best resource! Thanks so much, Kathy **************** Kathy Clark Librarian/Teacher The Harker School San Jose, California kathyc@harker.org klclark@netgate.net =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
