As the Media Assistant in a middle school, one of my responsibilities is to recruit and train student library aides. These kids are in grades 5 through 8 and are eager to help out. Does anyone have any journal articles or web pages that would help me to develop a training program for the students? I have a good one on the Dewey Decimal System, Do We" Really Know Dewey?, designed as an introduction to the DDC for younger students. One of our particular challenges is to help the 5th graders understand the concept of decimal numbers. We almost have to become math teachers for a few days! Thanks for the help. If there is enough interest, I'll post a hit.
