Target: 5th grade American Revolution novels

My 5th grade teachers are looking for something to replace My Brother
Sam is Dead for their entering 5th graders - many of the students are
finding it too difficult. I suggested The Fighting Ground but the
teacher said that students found the book confusing because of the times
and the German. Could anyone suggest some good novels about the
Revolutionary War for 5th graders? TIA!
