Hi all,
        Just for clarification: In the Time of the Butterflies is a
fictionalized account of the Mirabel sisters (not Mariposa), who were
real heroines in the fight against the Dominican dictator Trujillo. The
book is quite wonderful and is by Julia Alvarez. There is a middle
school in Washington Heights, I.S. 90, named for the Mirabel sisters.
Washington Heights has a large immigrant Dominican population.
