The YALSA Research Committee invites researchers interested in youth issues
to "Spreading the Wealth: Getting Youth Services Research into General
Refereed Journals" from 9:30 to 11 at the American Library Association
Annual Conference on Monday, June 28, 1999, in Room 333 of the New Orleans
Convention Center. Donald Kraft, Editor of the Journal of the American
Society for Information Science, Ellen Altman, Feature Editor of Public
Libraries, and Tom Childers, Editorial Board Member, Library and
Information Science Research, will discuss how to get published in their
respective journals. In addition, handouts from LISR and Library Quarterly
will be available. The program will be moderated by Mary K. Chelton, YALSA
Research Committee Member (Queens College), who with Nancy Thomas (Emporia
State University), recently co-edited a special youth services theme issue
of JASIS.
