more on attendance policies

I thought I would offer a little more information on what we are considerin=
g for new attendance policies and maybe that would help with more ideas or =
suggestions.

We are on a 9 week 4X4 block schedule and are considering the following =
change:

We are considering 5 (?) absences for each 9 weeks from a class, excused =
and unexcused.  At the fifth absence the students are given the choice of =
dropping the class for a failing grade or continuing the class and at the =
end of the class can appeal to a committee to receive their grade.

We are also considering Saturday detention but that hasn't progressed as =
far yet.
