There is an outdoor drama that plays every summer in Asheville, North
Carolina (location of the NC Cherokee reservation) called *Unto These
Hills* about the white encroachment and subsequent expulsion of the
Cherokee people to Oklahoma. Don't know the author, though. I'm sure you
could find out by visiting an Asheville tourist web site (CofC,
cityguide, etc.)
