Hello group - I have a question posed to me by a business teacher. A friend has a large credit card debt and wants to use a nonprofit organization that would go to these credit card companies and negotiate a lower rat of interest and then lump them alltogether so that he pays Financial Freedom so much per month. This group is based out of Utah, I believe. The catch is, they require $300 up front. After listening to programs like 20/20 and 60 Minutes, we are all a little more than skeptical about these things. I told him to call the Better Business Bureau but I also said I would check with the experts to see what my group knows. Anybody hear about this group and can tell me if they are legit? Also, is there other ways to check on their status?
