Last week my tongue became incredibly weary as I was teaching eighth graders about URLs, etc. The "w.w.w." became increasingly annoying. The teacher I was working with had a great solution: instead of staying "double-u, double-u, double-u", why don't we just say: "tri-dub." Works great for me! Tri-dub. Of course, we live here in Washington state, where we call the University of Washington "U-Dub." Anybody else out there like "tri-dub?"
