BOOK: Prisoner of time by Cooney

This is part of a trilogy or a set of three companion books but does
stand on its own.  In this one a girl at the turn of the century and
a current boy find ways to travel to each other in time.  The girl
uses it to ask him to help her out of a planned marriage. He comes
back and takes her right out of the ceremony, forward into time.  The
book started out a little slow but once it got rolling I could hardly
put it down.  There are at least three sub plots rotating back and
forth.  This style of writing takes a while to get used to but once
the reader figures it out, it just adds to the pace and tension of
the story.  When I finished it (almost late to a meeting because I
couldn't put it down) I ordered the other two from Amazon at first
chance (they are in paperback.)  The 200 page book shows how
difficult it is for people from other times to understand the manners
and customs of another one.
