Thank you all for help identifying the fire and the video. Everyone agrees it's the Triangle Factory Fire and two videos were mentioned. I'll look for them both -- as soon as I get back from the S.C. Assoc.of School Librarians conference! The two videos mentioned were: The name of the video is "The Triangle Factory Fire Scandal" copyright 1978 Alan Landsburg Productions. It was distributed by U.S.A. Home Video. I saw a video in law school 15 years ago (about cross-examination technique) which featured trial lawyer Irving Younger, in which he told the story of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire in which many young women perished. The doors to the fire escapes had been nailed shut to prevent the employees from going out to take smoking breaks during work hours, and when the fire broke out, the women were trapped.
