Once again I need the help of all of you. I am a librarian at a small K--8 private school of 270 students. The administration is finally giving some serious consideration to library automation and I am going to try and present a good case at our technology committee meeting next week. I think it might be helpful if I have some notion how many K--8 school libraries are automated, especially here in California. Does anyone have any statistics on this? I plan to argue that most students at my school, certainly those under grade 5 have known only OPACs because that's what the local public libraries have. But I'd love to have any figures you may know of. TIA from Helen Dittmer, Redwood Day School librarian, Oakland, CA <hdittme@ix.netcom.com> =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
