Hi everyone! A teacher and I were talking about the book "Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings" (by Edward McLachlan, copyright 1969). She has referred to it in class and the students don't know what she's talking about. When I was growing up, it was a cartoon on Saturday mornings. Of course, there was a song; it began "Well you know my name is Simon, and the things I draw come true." That's all we can remember. After talking with other teachers, we learned it was a skit on Saturday Night Live many years ago (most teachers didn't know Simon was a "real" person). A net search has turned up others looking for the lyrics, but no one who has them. Does anyone know the rest of the song or if "Simon" is available on video? Help, please! Thank you!
