Subject: Rick Brandt series

TAlong with my Hardy Boys and Tom Swifties, I had about 10 books in a series
about Rick Brandt, a science whiz who'd get mixed up in all sorts of
adventures. I devoured these books in the late 60s, but they were somewhat
old even then--in one book Rick gets inadvertently stuck in a rocket and
becomes the first human to orbit Earth, barely surviving the experience.
Does anyone have any info on the series?    It was fabulous.  TIA.
