Re: picture book references

I am working on an article for selecting picture books, and I would love
some help.  I have the ALA booklet on Newbery & Caldecott books (where the
art of each Caldecott is described), but is there another reference source
that identifies the art techniques in picture books, particularly newer
books?

Do you have examples of recent titles (and authors) for these artistic
media?

Pencil Drawing--
Scratchboard--
Photography--
Computer-generated art--
Mixed media--
