Yes, I heard her in CA, and she is fascinating, personable and has lots
of
great stories (real life) that she ties in with her books. I would have
her
at my school if I could!

She hasn't been to the school, but if you introduce the kids to her
books,
they'll definitely want to meet her...definitely try Dangerous Skies.

I saw Suzanne Fisher Staples speak at a conference in October in NJ.
She
was great.  The conference was the Educational Media Association of NJ
and
had a good turn out of Library Media Specialists, etc.  You'd be lucky
to
get her.

I had her at the public library where I used to work.  She was
outstanding,
enthralling .she showed slides and spoke.  I wish we could have her at
my
school Lisa

She spoke last year at our middle school and did a fine job. She did a
slide presentation and told some very interesting stories about her time
in
India and the real people upon whom she based the characters. The
students
really seemed to enjoy it, especially the girls. I don't know if I would

say she is outstanding, but she is pretty good.

We had her speak last year at a middle school - grades 5-8
Can't say she is really outstanding, but is good.  We had 7th grade
studying ancient cultures then and her books seemed to fit right in.
However, I
think we spent about $7-800.00 on her for a morning talk.  Cheaper than
some, but still a lot of money.  I think once was enough having her- but
I
like the idea of Carroll making all of the arrangements, etc.
