GEN: EL-ANNOUNCE, ANOTHER LM_NET SERVICE

Dear LM_NET Colleagues,

This may be particularly helpful to spot deals as you prepare your summer
orders. Also a good way to show your support for LM_NET!

This is a reminder about the LM_NET affiliated list server for
announcements by vendors and organizations. EL-Announce, the
"announcements" listserv allows vendors and organizations to send you
notices and promotional materials. I would like to mention that we have
had some very, very good discounts and new publication announcements
posted in recent weeks.

EL-Announce was started to help ease the pressure for commercial messages
on LM_NET and other listservers, and to recognize the need for library
vendors to get their important messages out to the schools without
spamming. Vendors are pre-screened, and their messages must be of interest
to school library media professionals.

Joining EL-Announce is also a way to help support the operation of LM_NET.
If you are interested in receiving a *limited* number of messages about
library-related products and services, check out EL-ANNOUNCE.

To subscribe to EL-ANNOUNCE, send an email message to:
   El-Announce-request@cuenet.com

In the body of the message write: subscribe

That's all you need to do. Your name is not required-- just the word:
subscribe

EL-ANNOUNCE is a moderated, _read-only_ list.  If you subscribe, you will
receive announcements of product specials and discounts, new products,
services, or opportunties specificially suited the the education and
library fields. This is an announcement list only--there will be no
discussion, but you will be able to reply directly to a specific vendor to
obtain additional information.

Please note that: Postings will be limited to one message per vendor per
week.  The list is moderated to ensure compliance and to see that messages
are relevant to library and education interests.
