ELEM: vocab. and news

Hello Friends!
        I have a 6th grade teacher who is interested in subscribing to a news
magazine or letter for her students that will help with current events.  We
know about Scholastic, Time for Kids, and Youthline.  Any other ideas, or
input on these that I listed?
        She would also like some type of vocab. curriculum--software, website,
SRA-type activity, etc. Any ideas?
