microsoft explorer help needed

I would like to use microsoft explorer as my browser but I can not e-mail
out of it like I can with Netscape Communicator.  When I download the 4.5
version from the web page , I don't seem to get outlook which I guess you
needed to use to set up the mail.  I have a G3 Mac on a network system
8.5.  Any help you can give me, I would appreciate.
