All educators have to be careful of the jokes they tell. When I first started subbing, I was called upon to sub for a social studies class. They were studying WWII, the War in the Pacific. Japanese General Chi Chi Nagumo was mentioned, and I quipped that after the war he opened a chain of Mexican restaurants. I discovered later that several had actually written that on the test they had later in the week. Why couldn't they have remembered the rest of that lesson that well?
