REF: story i.d.: The Decision?

Dear 'Netters,

A teacher is looking for a story she believes is called "The Decision."  The
plot goes something like this: a father and son walk along railroad tracks.
A rock falls and pins the son's foot.  The father must decide whether to
leave the son and seek help, risking that a train will come along before he
frees the boy, or to amputate the boy's leg.  Does anyone recognize this?
