Library automation and the MAC

I am in the process of automating my middle school library (very very
early in the process) and am curious if anyone out there has an  opinion
on using Macs.  All of my experience, software, and my network ring (i.e.
library friends) usesare (as are
my HS and elementary) but my building is very committed to the MAC.  Are
there pros that I don't see?
