MID: 6th grade novel

Aloha:

Our sixth grades are looking for a novel to read in conjunction with
a unit that concerns ships, explorers, and survival.  It must be on 6th
grade reading level.  They already are considering: True Confessions of
Charlotte Doyle; Morning Girl; Voyage of the Frog; and Slave Dancer.

What other titles might you suggest? And naturally this is needed today!
