Hello Folks, I am the district librarian/media specialist for my district of 2600 students. We have assistants in each school, but no hope of getting certified people back in place. I have not been in a media center full-time for nearly three years. I voluteered to teach library skills classes to the 3-5 graders next year in 6-8 week blocks. I am interested in hearing from people who keep this kind of schedule. What skills do you concentrate on? Do you have the lessons culminate in some sort of project? My supervisor suggested I have them do something on the computer, but the computer teacher was wary of the third graders' keyboarding skills. In the old days I taught skills and literature appreciated all through the year. I am concerned about making this a useful and worthwhile time that both students and teachers will benefit from. Any help will be very appreciated. Thanks.
