I humbly disagree with Gordon Riley about admitting a challenged book was a mistake for the collection and quietly pulling it from the shelves, unless you believe that yourself. Gordon thinks a retreat will satisfy critics and they won't be looking for other contentious books. I think a passive retreat encourages a witch hunt and sends a signal that a weak professional is unwilling to stand behind his or her choices. Glad it isn't me.
