Dear Friends and Fellow Library Media Specialists, I know that the issue of INVENTORY has been discussed frequently and I have found lots of helpful information in the archives. An elementary principal has taken issue with the year end procedures for our district libraries (10 elem, 2 jhs, 2 hs). All libraries are open for research and quiet study until the last day of school, although formal classes and circulation end 2 weeks prior to the close of school In her memo she says: " ...It has been my observation that 2 weeks without classes is excessive. It also seems relatively inequitable when one considers the incredible work required from classroom teachers to wrap up their school year..." .I am uncomfortable with this line of thinking and am seeking some constructive responses to this statement.
