It occurs to me that we might be wise not to reinforce the idea of
"cancellation of support" but rather might simply thank them for
contributing to the efforts of librarians and the general public to
encourage young readers to read and think for themselves and express out
appreciation for their support to build reading rooms for young readers.

I think it's a great idea to contact Toys R US; I'm not so sure in terms of
Colin Powell as he is commanding big $ to keynote and I'm not sure that he
has that much of a message for LMS -- more of a political agenda in some
people's opinion.  I'm not sure of my own opinion -- just thinking about it.
