There is a wonderful reading teacher in my school who hated to read as a
child. Her one positive memory of reading while growing up was a
Read-a-Thon for the benefit of multiple sclerosis. She really felt
that, by reading, she was contributing to something (as opposed to "just
reading"). Anyhow, she asked if we could have one next year.
Any ideas? Any of you do these read-a-thons where the kids get sponsors
and read to raise money for a cause? Are there prizes (gold, silver,
bronze medals, Olympic style, or...)?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
