Author visit

        I just had to share with everyone what a great day we had today
with  Valerie Flournoy, author of The Patchwork Quilt.  She did 6
presentations, one for each grade K - 5 (we combined the am kindergarten
with 1st grade and then she also did a seperate program for the pm
kindergarten).  Each presentation was geared to the level of the children.
She spoke about her books, the whole process of writing, editing, and
getting a book published, emphasizing how many times a piece of writing
must be revised and edited.  She was very upbeat and personable.  She had
as much enthusiasm for the last group at 3 pm as she had had for the first
group at 9:15 am.  She lives in Palmyra, NJ.  I am writing this at home and
her address is at school.  If anyone is interested, I'll be happy to send
the information on how to reach her.  I highly recommend her.
