Yolanda's Genius/Challenge

Dear Friends,
We have a challenge in process on Yolanda's Genius by Carol Fenner. I am not
involved, but was asked to find anything I could to support the book. I found
information on the author in SATA and four review sources for the book, rating
it between an "A" and a "B". I know the author lives in Michigan and I read her
book, Randall's Wall, following a recommendation from our listserv. I have
'skimmed' Yolanda's Genius enough to know the storyline. The objection is mostly
for language and the strong-willed defiance shown by Yolanda. I would appreciate
hearing from some of you. It sounds like a weak case, but it made it past the
school librarian and principal, to our district administration...following the
procedure we have set up for challenges.
