gender names for animals

Help! One of my teachers has assigned a report on animals for her class.
One requirement is to find the male and female name (buck, doe) for each
animal and provide documentation of the source.  We cannot find many of
these.  So far we can't provide proof for elephant, rhinoceros, and monkeys
and apes.  I'm hoping you might know a site I could go to or maybe she will
accept librarians of LM_Net as documentation!
