Well, I've had my first challenge, from of all people the school secretaries. Seems they perused the latest Rolling Stone, as they went through the school mail, and found two things that don't "seem appropriate for high school students." If you have the June 10 1999 issue, the pages in question are 77 (a hand with third finger saluting) and 81 ( girl lying on locker room bench, wearing only socks & shoes but revealing nothing). I have no intention of dropping our subscription, and they will probably be placated by the fact that I keep it behind the counter and students must ask for it, because of past thefts, not censorship. I am wondering how many of you carry Rolling Stone - I know it "pushes the envelope" but has excellent articles - am I mistaken in thinking it appropriate if not always tasteful? Thanks for your opinions.
