Does anyone recognize this poem? I checked Elibrary and altavista but nothing came up. This is the beginning. Death of a Caged Bird Outside I can hear the birds beckoning me. They seem to be singing to me. Calling me outside to bask in the sun. The grass seems to be taunting me reminding me of my cage which I am a captive. The uneventful life I lead is boring, but safe. Terribly boring, but horribly safe. I want to leave here. My heart says yes but those bars say no. Those awful silver bars. My mouth is dry, although water is no problem. -- Lois Tabis, Librarian Sharpsville HS, Sharpsville, PA tabis@infonline.net =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
