KY Media Specialist: Donna Hornsby

To all who may have met or seen Donna at one of the many conferences where
she presented:
                        Kentucky Media Specialists lost one of their best
friends and most valued leaders, Donna Jo Hornsby, media specialist at
Beechwood Independent School and adjunct professor at the University of
Kentucky on Tuesday, May 18.
                        Donna succumbed to a long illness Tuesday evening.
She had taught as usual that day.  She was 53 years old.
                        Donna was a leader in NKY and in the state, serving
as KSMA president in 1994-95.  She served on many state committees and was an
integral part of developing the Kentucky Educational Technology Standards and
program.  Her enthusiasms and passions included her media center, her church,
technology, people and most of all, her family.  Donna leaves behind two
daughters, a son, and two young granddaughters.
                        Memorials can be made to the Donna Hornsby Memorial
Scholarship Fund, in care of Beechwood Independent Schools, 54 Beechwood Rd,
Covington, KY 41017.
