After several years of doing the inventory I still have questions! I am using a portable bar wand scanner. We have completed the paperback books. A student has come in and complained that the overdue book on his name HAS been returned. I sometimes find this to be the case since occasionally a volunteer at the desk did not scan it in properly. The paperbacks are in boxes now for the summer and hard to re-check. WHY dosen't the program check in a book and remove it from the patrons name when it is scanned at inventory? Am I doing something wrong. In a previous life I used a Follett program that DID this so that after inventory we could be confident in telling a student they did NOT return the book. Sorry this is so long winded. Cheryl Sturgeon Library/Media Spec.
