Hi everyone, I am looking for a quote I saw when I was a member of this Listserv (I am now retired). It went something like "What a school thinks of its library is a measure of what it thinks of education" Can you help? I am writing a letter to the local paper in criticism of budget cuts to the library budget (and staff cuts) . This year has been really hard on those of us (Elementary LMS) that were left on the job after 2 of us retired. In fact one more LM S quit midyear, another is retiring prematurely. Permanent subs are staffing the libraries in several schools. The district has made all computer teachers full time (they had been halftime) and claim they have not been able to find qualified people for the openings in the LMCs. I know I retired at the right time, but our students and faculties are the victims of this negligence. Oh well. I wish those of you on the job, a relaxing and restful summer vacation. Thanks for your help . Susan Roscoe Retired LMS Oakdale, New York =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
