GEN: Need a word

A teacher has asked me for the word used to describe people listening to
song lyrics and hearing the wrong words instead. Evidently she saw this
word in a newspaper article, which I will try to track down, but I thought
it best to get your help, as well. She believes that it starts with an "m."
