Position: School Librarian/Media Specialist.  Strong candidates will have a
MLS or equivalent Education/School Library Media degree. Candidates with
some library science education, appropriate job experience, and ability to
obtain a teaching license from the New Mexico State Department of
Education, with appropriate Librarian endorsement, will also be considered.

About the school: Menaul School, located in sunny Albuquerque, is an
independent, college preparatory school which serves 6th through 12th
graders.  The school is associated with, and supported by, the Presbyterian
Church and students attend chapel twice weekly. However, students and
faculty of all denominations are welcome.  The current enrollment of 420
students includes about a dozen international dorm students and there is
some faculty housing on campus.  More information about the school can be

created by students and is still under construction.)
About the Media Center: The Media Center is housed in its own building
along with a computer classroom and faculty work area. The current
collection includes @ 8,000 volumes, a strong periodical subscription list,
a small AV materials collection and the appropriate AV equipment.
Currently, there are 10 computers located in the library: 2 PCs used for
word processing only, two CD ROM search stations designated for research
using Newsbank and Infotrac, and 6 Macintosh computers which provide
students with access to word processing, CD ROM research, and Internet
research. A recent grant is enabling us to install a 3M Security System and
Companion's Alexandria for Macintosh. Access to resources and library
skills instruction is provided to classes and individuals on a flexible
schedule.  A full time volunteer library assistant will be here to aid the
Media Specialist.
