Hello,

First, "thank you" to the dozen people who responded. Here are the
suggestions I am going to act on:

Lerner Publications has a great set with these titles: Fundamental
Snowboarding, Fundamental...Baseball, Golf, Gymnastics, Hockey, Soccer,
Tennis, Volleyball, by various authors, ISBN's start w/0-8225-345__.
ie. Fundamental Baseball is 0-8225-3455-X. They are great at the middle
school level.

From lacrosse land in Virginia, my son suggests the following and I
concur:

  Green, Tina--Modern Women's Lacrosse (ABK,89) isbn0960142029

and a recent one I noticed Nicholson--Composite Guide to Lacrosse (Chelsea
House, 1999) isbn 0791047199
*******************************
I just purchased a series entitled Play it like a Pro......with a set
for Baseball, Basketball, Football, and Soccer. There are six books
about each sport...example: Baseball: hitting, Soccer: defending. They
are very basic, telling lots of information about every aspect of the
sport. Published by Rourke Publishing (a couple of ISBN #'s.... ISBN
1-57103-186-3
ISBN 1-55916-224-4)
I purchased them from Gumdrop Books 1-800-821-7199
****************************
Sports Illustrated has a series of books about various sports...you might
take a look at them...they are short, readable, basic
****************************

Robert
