Spackenkill Union Free School District is seeking a certified
Library Media Specialist for a tenure-track middle school
opening. Spackenkill is a growing district of approximately 1700
students enrolled in two K-5 elementary schools, one 6-8 middle
school, and one 9-12 high school. It is located along the Hudson
River, midway between New York City and Albany.
Qualified candidates must possess strong organizational
skills, and be able to undertake the definition and development
of the new library currently under construction to make it central to
the school program. Our middle school has recently begun the automation
process, and plans to be fully automated with Dynix Scholar by
June 2000. Strong technology skills are essential. A good candidate
will possess curricular and professional skills necessary to work
collaboratively with a creative middle school staff, as well as
with the three librarians currently employed in the District.
Superior candidates will understand the unique needs of the middle
school child, and be competent at teaching classes, as well as
interacting individually with students.
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience, and
is determined by teacher contract.
Interested candidates may send a letter of intent and a resume,
and request an application from:
              Superintendent Andrew Manca

We look forward to hearing from you.
