Unfortunately, I have a shop teacher who says things like "I wish I had your
job. I'd like doing nothing all day." He does this at lunch, in front of a
group of staff who are all appalled at his behavior. I don't even respond.
What is there for me to say? <sigh> I'm happy to say he appears to be the
only one with that opinion in my building. :)

How about the teacher who loudly stated in a faculty meeting that it wasn't
her job to plan my lessons for me when I asked the teachers to let me know
what they were covering in their classrooms so I could correlate my library
lessons with their subject material. What is even more interesting is that
this particular teacher is now chairperson of the library task force and is
really cooperating with me when we discuss plans for next year.

We developed a library task force this year and all policies will come out
of the task force, not just me, so this is a big help. They are also
working on scheduling, trying to get new equipment and shelves, and
librarian/teacher cooperation. And they want to eliminate the kindergarten
and first grade playtime on our two computers (which also serve as Internet,
research, and word processing) which is plagued me the last two years
because students can't get on the computers for research when they need it.
