To the more experienced: How do you handle MARC cataloging for donated books--most of which have no CIP information in them--or other books which come without cataloging? 1. Do aids handle the task? If so, how are they trained? 2. Do you subscribe to software from which you can download records? If so what are the recommended software titles and costs? How much time is saved? 3. Anyone using MLS eZcat to download records? Any recommendations? Our several small schools are consolidating and populations are shifting so I am likely to receive numerous titles over the summer with little or no cataloging. Any suggestions on how best to get the job done without sending out the shelf list for conversion (in many cases the shelf-list is non-existent)? Thanks for any advise. I will post hits if there is interest.
