Hi, I agree an article(s) should be written, and it should be submitted to the journals that teachers and administrators read. However, I have found it very difficult to get library related subjects printed in "Educational Leadership," for example. We need to get ourselves booked into the conferences that administrators and teachers attend. We need to create videos for public TV. I maintain that most administrators and teachers do not have a clue what a library should look like in today's world. In Maine most school libraries (high school is the exception) have been staffed with aides or Ed Techs. Most library media specialists do not have the staff that will allow them to run an exciting and busy library, but instead they spend all their time doing the familiar library jobs of collection development, filing and cataloguing. If the administrators do not have the vision, they cannot make it happen. They will continue to hire a librarian rather than a teacher/librarian. (LMS) At our state conference we discussed how we can showcase a real library, and decided we will have to get out of our libraries to do it.
