Sports figures websites

I have a teacher who had her kids compose letters to their favorite sports
figures, (of course, a number of them wrote to professional wrestlers)  She
wants to know if there is a website of athletes who would correspond somehow
with kids, and possibly answer those letters:)  It doesn't seem hopeful, as
the folks that I have seen have all want money.  Any ideas?
