Hit:Lower reading level books

Thanks so much for the responses to my query for Hi/Lo books.  Here is a
synopsis of my findings.  I hope this helps other schools in our position=
=2E

Two publishers were recommended.  Capstone (1-800-747-4923) or www.capsto=
ne-
press.com.  =93They have mostly non-ficiton titles , but they also have s=
ome
excellent picuture books about a variety of topics.=94

Perfection Form Company was also mentioned. =93PFC has classics in lower =
reading
format.=94

Some series that were mentioned were:
New Little House Chapter Books--=94there are 3 level types now.=94
Marvin Redpost series (Louis Sachar) =

Baily School Kids (Dadley?)series
Nate the Great series by Sharmat =

Cam Jansen series by Adler
Beverly Cleary books
"Skinny Books." One of the authors in the series is Marilyn Sachs.
Junie B. Jones books (Barbara Park).  =

The Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne  (17 in the series)
Zack Files series by Dan Greenburg  (12 + in series)

Dragon Slayers' Academy by K H McMullan  (at least 4 in series)

Bullseye Step Into Classics

Bullseye Chillers.

A couple of individual books were suggested:

Karen Hesse's Music of the Dolphins
The Secret Garden (an easier edition).

Two authors that were suggested were:
Joan Lowery Nixon =

Patricia Polacco

And two separate ideas were to use the Accelerated Reader catalog as a gu=
ide for
reading and interest levels and to purchase books on tape.  =
