This was a "pet" topic of mine in library school a few years ago. One thing I vaguely remember is that principals by and large come from the ranks of former math and physical ed teachers, both disciplines that probably did not demand much library use when they themselves were students. Additionally, one thing I do is sign up for professional development opportunities that are advertised for teachers. After all, we are teachers. Sometimes, I am not allowed in (we are holding the spots for classroom teachers they say) but by and large I have had no trouble. Another opportunity for teachers and the teachers of teachers (often administrators) to see librarians in a collegial (sp?) environment.
