You can incorporate almost any topic in your library skills currirulum if you teach the kids to evaluate web sites on that topic. Depending on their proficiency in searching (you can teach that too) you could give them addresses and compare and contrast sites and evaluate for their use, or you could have them brainstorm keywords on the topic, and create Boolean searches and then let'm loose. I've done that using Excite and alta vista (and compared results) as well as a broad topic search on Yahoo and asking a specific question in Ask Jeeves for kids (ajkids.com). Loking for current articles in marine science would work too, whether you have Readers' Guide or an electronic index. Maureen S.
